Rain, rain go away…

Posted by sara on March 30, 2007

rain
Central Texas is forecast to experience some severe weather overnight tonight. What does that mean for practice?

First, we swim if it’s raining, not if it’s lightening. Sometimes the weather in South Austin is stormy, but the sun is shining in North Austin. The best thing is to check this Web site for updates or give me a call.

Second, just because the 8am practice is canceled, the 9am practice may go on. Again, check the site for any announcements.

Don’t worry if the weather is bad- Mermaids are tough. Just ask those who swam in the sleet and freezing temps of last session!

Hope to see you all in the morning.

Staying streamlined

Posted by sara on March 11, 2007

Hello Mermaids! I enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces and meeting many new ones on Saturday.

A couple of items:

– The Balcones and the “J” pool are the same distances- 25 yards. Congratulations to all the ladies who thought the decrease in their stroke count was due to a shorter pool…it’s not the pool, it’s your improved stroke!

Here’s a list of all City of Austin pools and their vital stats.

-click on the above photo to see more shots from the first practice.

-look for the workouts from Saturday morning to be posted soon. We’ll email out a password for you to access the page.

As always, please feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments about the practices.

Happy swimming!
